We’re working on a market development strategy for our client the North Coast Destination Network. As China has become Australia’s biggest inbound tourism market by visitor expenditure, we’re on a mission to welcome the emerging independent travelling class from China. Think educated, tech savvy young Chinese travellers experiencing the freedom of a classic Australian roadtrip along The Legendary Pacific Coast.
We helped our client Byron Bay Bluesfest pick up two gongs in the Australian Event Awards and the NSW Tourism Awards in 2013. Our written submissions were competitively judged amongst hundreds of tourism and event industry applicants, resulting in Bluesfest winning Best Regional Event in Australia and Best Major Festival or Event in New South Wales.
Now that’s got to shake your blues!
2013 was a positive year for tourism, hospitality and events, with international and domestic visitor numbers and expenditure in Australia up on 2012. As a Network Partner in the Australian Workforce Futures program we’ve been helping to improve the capacity and capabilities of tourism, events and hospitality businesses. To date the uptake in Workforce Futures has been excellent, with over 2200 businesses (of a target of 2500) participating nation-wide.
Chinese indy band Nova Heart have been receiving airplay on Australian youth network Triple J and are currently touring Australia.
We’re organising for the band to take time out between gigs to experience a classic Aussie roadtrip on The Legendary Pacific Coast from Brisbane to Sydney.
